Kristen Classen & John Mayo

Like many other couples, we met online through Hinge. One of Kristen's profile pictures was her at Disney's Hollywood Studios with a lightsaber, and that is what caught John's eye.John started the conversation with a Star Wars joke, "What is the internal temperature of a Taun Taun?" Kristen must have thought it was funny because she agreed to meet John for their first date on May 4. 

January 1, 2025, during a New Year's trip to Walt Disney World, John, with the help of their friends Trevor and Sara, popped the question.Trevor, Sara, and their kids secured a spot on the beach at Disney's Polynesian Resort for us to watch the Happily Ever After Fireworks. Sara found the perfect spot at the water's edge. She had blocked off the area so no one could take over the space. It provided a perfect setting for the proposal.Towards the end of Happily Ever After, after Tinkerbell flies from Cinderella Castle, there is a line that says, "reach out and find your happily ever after." Right after this, John turned to Kristen, got down on one knee, and said, "Kristen, would you be my happily ever after?"She said yes just as the fireworks finale started. It really was magical.
